Staffing Changes at FTM – John Bruce Departs and Sheen Chan Joins FTM

John Bruce, Film Training Manitoba (FTM)’s Special Projects and Marketing Coordinator has departed the organization for a position in the private sector.

Since the beginning of 2021, he’s taken on a variety of duties such as facilitating courses to troubleshooting tech issues to writing annual reports.

John also developed a new visual graphic style for the organization’s social media content, and helped grow FTM’s Facebook following by garnering hundreds of thousands of impressions with dynamic content.

He took the helm on the Reel Careers Profiles, helping gather, edit, and publish over a dozen articles that gave Manitoban film professionals the opportunity to share their success stories, helping inspire others to join the province’s dynamic film industry.

Sheen Chan has been hired as FTM’s new Communications and Programs Coordinator. Sheen and John are both graduates of Red River Polytechnic’s Creative Communications Program where they both completed successful internships at FTM as part of their education.

“John Bruce was a very effective team member for FTM. He helped the organization on many fronts, including creating graphics and social media content that brought new business and helped our organization grow,” said FTM’s Managing Director Adam Smoluk. “We wish him the very best in the future and our team is excited to be working with Sheen in her new position.”
