New Training and Partnerships Manager on Board at Film Training Manitoba

Film Training Manitoba (FTM) is pleased to announce that the organization has hired Sydney Sabiston as the new Training and Partnerships Manager.

Sabiston is a graduate of the University of Winnipeg’s Film and Theatre program and has extensive film industry experience as a Performer, Assistant Director, and Casting Director with Farpoint Films.

“Sydney was profiled in FTM’s Reel Careers profile series and she worked with Farpoint Film which is an expectational company – we are very delighted to have her in this important new position as she is an excellent champion of our industry.” Said FTM’s Managing Director Adam Smoluk.

In Sabiston’s new position, she will be coordinating new partnerships with various film industry stakeholders as well as developing and launching new training programs for Manitoba’s dynamic film industry.


FTM is a non-for-profit charity and member of the Province of Manitoba’s sector council program (through the Department of Economic Development and Jobs). FTM conducts workforce development and training to build a highly skilled and adaptable film industry to support the activities of Manitoba production companies. FTM collaborates with members of the film and television industry to identify the training needs within the community.
