On Friday, February 9, 2024, the EmpowHER Program successfully finished with a graduation ceremony for all the participants. The program supports the skills development of women to enter into job markets within trades-based industries.

The program ran for 12 weeks starting on November 6, 2023, and completed with the graduation ceremony on February 9.

EmpowHER is a first-of-its-kind multi-sector collaborative project between Film Training Manitoba (FTM), Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME), and the Manitoba Construction Sector Council (MCSC), designed to prepare women for employment in the construction, film, or manufacturing industries in Manitoba.

“Film Training Manitoba wishes to thank our funder the Province of Manitoba’s Sector Council Program as well as our exceptional partners, Carol Paul from the Manitoba Construction Sector Council, and Andrea Aiello from the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters for working so collaboratively on this critical growth program.” Said FTM’s Executive Director Adam Smoluk.
