About the workshop:
Film Training Manitoba and ACTRA Manitoba are pleased to offer an American Accent workshop with Tom Soares, Winnipeg-based actor, voice specialist, coach and educator.
We are excited to have him share his experience and knowledge with us
There are limited spots available, so don’t wait to register. If interest exceeds the number of spots available, a waiting list will be created and those names will be kept on file for future ACTRA Manitoba workshops with Tom.
All registered participants bring a 1-minute piece of dialogue for a single voice.
About the instructor:
Tom Soares – Tom has taught senior-level courses in voice at the University of Winnipeg, as well as acting and voice at The Globe Theatre’s Conservatory (Regina), York University, Prairie Theatre Exchange and Actors’ Training Centre of Manitoba.
Privately, Tom coaches and teaches public speaking and presentation skills one-on-one and in custom workshops. He has worked for such companies as CTV News Winnipeg, The Civil Service Commission and The Winnipeg School Division.
Participants must cancel up to 4 full business days prior to the course start date to receive an 80% refund. No refund will be given to participants who cancel within 4 full business days before the course start date, or if they do not attend the course.
Film Training Manitoba reserves the right to cancel, or postpone, any course where a minimum registration level has not been met. Participants registered for a course that is cancelled will receive a full refund.
FTM is a non-for-profit charity and member of the Province of Manitoba’s sector council program (through the Department of Economic Development and Jobs). FTM conducts workforce development and training to build a highly skilled and adaptable film industry to support the activities of Manitoba production companies. FTM collaborates with members of the film and television industry to identify the training needs within the community.
