FTM closed on September 30th in respect of National day for Truth and Reconciliation 

Some of the opportunities in Winnipeg to memorialize the children lost to the residential school system and honour Survivors, their families, and their communities. 

  • National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – Winnipeg Art Gallery, 300 Memorial Blvd – 11:00 am
  • Orange Shirt Days – the Manitoba Museum, 190 Rupert Ave – runs until October 2 (check their website for more details)
  • Meditation for Truth, Reconciliation and Justice – The Réseau Compassion Network, St. Boniface Cathedral ruins – 9:30 am to 10:30 am
  • Viewing and discussion of We Were Children – Aulneau Renewal Centre, 228 Hamel street – 1 PM to 3 PM
  • Free lawn signs and car stickers – The Southern Chiefs Organization’s Every Child Matters campaign, 1572 Dublin Avenue
  • Annual Survivors Walk from the forks to the RBC convention centre – starting at the forks, 11 AM
  • 2nd Annual Orange Shirt Day Pow Wow – RBC Convention Centre, 375 York Ave – Grand Entry at 1 PM
  • Forgotten: The Métis residential school experience – Vincent Design, 765 main street, 3rd-floor boardroom – runs until October 3rd (check Their website for hours)
