The One-on-one Screenwriting Accelerator 2020

An Indigenous Filmmakers Association and Film Training Manitoba Distance Education Partnership

Deadline application date is May 22, 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the partners have provided tuition credits for the participants to attend free of charge. This courses registration would normally be $100.

About the Training session:
The One-on-one Screenwriting Accelerator 2020 is a series of distance education sessions held for indigenous Manitoba based screenwriters in June 2020. During this accelerator, the selected participants will receive training with a senior industry screenwriter to develop their writing skills for media productions.

The instructor will read each participant’s materials and provide feedback and skills development to aid the participant’s professional growth in a one-on-one setting. All participants must be residents of Manitoba and members of the Indigenous Filmmakers Association.  Submitted projects are short scripts (no more than 20 pages).

Potential participants must submit applications to the Indigenous Filmmakers Association directly for selection to the training session by the deadline date of May 22, 2020 (at 11:59 pm). The applicants are required to submit their name, email address, current phone number, CV and a script. Materials must be emailed to: programs@indigenousfilmmakers.com

Please note: the instructor may speak or contact with the participants in advance of the sessions.

Participants will also be required to fill out a course evaluations post training session.

Film Training Manitoba Course Registration Policy

  • Participants must be 18 years of age or older to register and attend the course.
  • Participants must register in advance of the course.
  • Registration is on a first come, first served basis – unless otherwise specified. Enrollment may be limited.
  • For this workshop – all registrations must be received by e-mail at programs@indigenousfilmmakers.com


Cancellation Policy

  • Film Training Manitoba reserves the right to cancel, or postpone, any course where a minimum registration level has not been met. Participants registered for a course that is canceled will receive a full refund.
