FTM and UWPG Film Festival Launch New Training Partnership

Manitoba’s workforce development and training organization Film Training Manitoba (FTM) and the UWPG Film Festival are set to offer a deluxe Zoom training session as part of the festival on October 21 from 1 pm – 2 pm.

FTM’s Super Six Series panel gives Manitoban film industry professionals the chance to share their experiences with both established and aspiring film workers. They provide advice about jobs and careers in an engaging and interactive industry forum.

“We hope to add this Super Six session to our list of successful collaborations with UWPG Film Festival,” said FTM’s Managing Director Adam Smoluk. “I want to thank the festival director Miranda Moroz for working with FTM on this exciting event.”

FTM conducted a similar session in 2020 which garnered the most views of any of the panels held during the festival.

Since 2002, UWPG Film Festival has showcased the work of post-secondary students. It provides emerging filmmakers with the opportunity to screen their work — a key component of the filmmaking process. The festival is free to submit to and attend. The 20th Annual UWPG Film Festival is set to take place on October 19 – 23, 2021.

“FTM’s industry-driven programming connects Manitoba’s film professionals with quality workforce development and learning opportunities,” said UWPG Film Festival Director Miranda Moroz. “This partnership session will help connect young Manitobans with experienced experts, giving them the chance to learn about various jobs and careers in the growing film industry.”

Stay tuned for more info and registration opportunities for this panel!
