Results are in from FTM’s Workforce Training Evaluation

Once again, Film Training MB has recently sent out an evaluation to the community to gain feedback that will inform our programming for the up coming year. The results were exciting to see – we can’t wait to launch a new year of courses and events that you, the community, and productions companies have asked for.

For context, despite the challenges of COVID-19, FTM projects to exceed 1,600 total participations before the end of the fiscal year which ends on March 31, 2021. This includes online certification courses and 55 in-class and remote training sessions throughout the year.

To match the changes and major growth in Manitoba’s film industry, FTM’s team works diligently to plan and carry out workforce development and training. FTM develops and conducts training using a number of Human Resource metrics. This includes quarterly industry surveys, feedback from evaluations, industry consultations with Manitoba businesses, FTM’s Board of Directors, and partner organizations.

So far this year, FTM’s programming has covered a few areas where people have voiced their opinion for interest. Partnering with ACTRA MB, we’ve put on 5 BIPOC acting related courses and events, and we plan to cover the following: a make-up course, development/finance/budgeting, supervisory training, initiatives for safety, more panels hosting industry professionals, and so much more.

Thank you to all who took the time to fill out the survey. FTM, of course, is always open to hear suggestions from the community as it helps us get a better feel for what’s needed and desired for training.
