Mentorships
Film Training Manitoba supports the professional development of individuals committed to careers in the film industry.
FTM’s mentorship program provides opportunities for on-the-job training for qualified crew, exposing them to professional television or film production techniques and practices.
Through this program, established and experienced crewmembers with an interest in mentoring will help build Manitoba’s talent pool. The program helps the participant build on their knowledge and abilities to do the job of a more senior crewmember and to further develop their networking skills.
Mentorships are designed for people already working in the film and television industry who are seeking a focused professional development opportunity. Applicants must have previous experience and must be able to show a commitment to independent production in Manitoba.
All applications to the program will be reviewed by a jury comprised of professionals from local film related companies and organizations.
Film Training Manitoba will administer and monitor the mentorships and will work with production companies and producers to select, coordinate and facilitate suitable placements. All parties will sign a letter of agreement, outlining the terms, mutual obligations and expectations of the mentorship placements.
