Crew Course and Travel Fund
The Crew Course and Travel Fund (CCTF) was created to support the professional development of Manitoba’s crewmembers, and to assist in filling the labour gaps at the mid to advanced level crew positions within the film industry.
Through the CCTF Film Training Manitoba will provide financial assistance to approved applicants in order to help cover the costs of participating in a professional development workshop, course, or other opportunity. Professional development opportunities are only eligible if they increase the applicant’s skill set and knowledge base in order to become more proficient in their current position, or advance to a more senior position within their department.
Applications must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the start of the workshop or course. This fund is open from June 1 through to September 30, 2011. All training must be completed by December 31, 2011.
The Crew Course and Travel Fund will only cover up to 80% of the total cost of a course or workshop. Applicants must be willing to contribute at least 20% of the cost of training. Applicants are permitted to receive additional funding from other sources to assist in covering the cost of their financial contribution.
Upon completion of the workshop or course, and submission of the required reports to the fund administrator, FTM will issue a reimbursement cheque for the full amount of the award.
*This program does not cover those who can access On Screen Manitoba’s Professional Development Fund. If the applicant is unsure whether or not they qualify for funding, they should contact the fund administrator to discuss their eligibility.

• Are members in good standing of either IASTE Local 865 or the Directors Guild of Canada, Manitoba District Council or have equivalent experience working as a film professional in other areas of the industry, such as with independent production companies.
