ACTRA Members & Permittees: $125 | Non-ACTRA Members: $140

Actor’s Training Centre of Manitoba | 502 – 62 Albert Street

(Film Training Manitoba is pleased to offer training at a reduced cost to the Manitoba Film industry. This course is normally valued at $200.00 per person.)

The focus of this intensive two-day workshop is working for film on The Meisner Technique and how these principles are utilized to achieve a compelling performance both in the audition room and on set.

Sanford Meisner’s Technique is built upon his philosophy that, “until an actor is a more honest human being, only then is an actor ready to act”. Participants will immerse themselves in the technique as it applies it to the film and television medium. This workshop will explore both the audition process and the professional demands of working on set, exponentially deepening and accelerating the actor’s process.

Actors will work – on camera – with scenes specifically chosen for them by instructor, Christiane Hirt, employing each facet of Meisner’s teachings that will be explored throughout the workshop.

REQUIREMENT:  Upon registration, actors are then required to submit a headshot, a résumé and a short description of what they feel their strengths and challenges are in their work. This will help the instructor choose material that is appropriate for each individual participant. All submissions must be emailed to by September 12th, 2014.
