Dealing with Difficult Situations

Dealing with difficult workplace situations is a challenge faced by many people and the way you handle these situations can significantly shape your reputation within the workplace. This one-day session examines the nature of workplace conflict and will provide you with the skills needed to clear up misunderstandings, resolve disagreements, and address difficult situations.

Objectives

  • Develop confidence in clarifying expectations and clearing up misunderstandings
  • Increase your ability to transform arguments and power struggles into problem solving conversations

Instructor Bio

David Falk is a seasoned conflict resolution practitioner. He has worked as mediator, trainer, facilitator, academic, and workplace consultant. He has been involved in assessing and intervening in conflict situations and providing consultation support to many organizations throughout Canada. In addition to numerous professional courses, Mr. Falk has completed both a Bachelor and Masters Degree specializing in Conflict Resolution. He served six years on the faculty of conflict resolution studies at the University of Winnipeg. Mr. Falk is currently both a partner at Facilitated Solutions, a Winnipeg firm specializing in addressing workplace conflict, and an associate trainer at the Resolution Skills Centre, Manitoba's premiere conflict resolution training organization.

Accreditation

Registration Policy

  • Payment can be made in person at the FTM office with cash, cheque, MasterCard or Visa; and over the phone with Visa or MasterCard.
  • Registration and payment must be complete prior to the course - no drop-ins or reservations.

Course Refund Policy

  • Film Training Manitoba may cancel or postpone courses if minimum registration is not met. Full refunds will be issued.
  • A refund, less a 20% cancellation fee, will be given if you cancel four working days before the course begins.
  • No refund is given if you cancel within three or less working days before the course begins, or if you do not attend the course.
