This intensive five-day screenwriting course is designed to focus on integral elements of the screenwriting work process.  Beneficial for beginning, mid-career, or established screenwriters, it provides a comprehensive immersion in contemporary screenwriting craft.  The workshop will be divided into modules of lectures, demonstrations and exercises.

Day Four: Explore conflict and dialogue

Day Five: Understanding the transformational arc of a story, and the art of adaptation

** This five-day course consists of four 90-minute sessions per day, beginning at 9:30 am and ending at 5 pm. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch.

The Instructor

Dr. Linda Seger created and defined the job of script consultant in 1981, when she began her script consulting business based on a system for analyzing scripts developed as part of her doctoral dissertation. She has consulted on over 2000 projects, including over thirty produced television projects, and over fifty produced feature films. Her clients have included TriStar Pictures, MGM/UA, Guber-Peters Entertainment. Ray Bradbury, William Kelley, Tony Bill, Dave Bell, Charles Fries Entertainment, Linda Lavin, and Suzanne De Passe, etc.

Dr. Seger is the author of eleven books including eight on screenwriting and filmmaking.  She has given seminars for ABC, CBS, NBC, Disney Animation, Turner Network Television, Embassy Television, Matinee Productions, the MacGyver Series, the Television and Motion Picture Academies, the DGA, WGA, AFI, UCLA, and USC.

She has lectured and consulted internationally and has trained script editors and script consultants internationally.  She has also appeared on over 40 Radio and television shows, including National Public Radio, Good Morning L.A., Good Morning New York, and CNN.

Course Refund Policy

• Film Training Manitoba may cancel or postpone courses if minimum registration is not met. Full refunds will be issued.
• A refund, less a 20% cancellation fee, will be given if you cancel four working days before the course begins.
• No refund is given if you cancel within three or less working days before the course begins, or if you do not attend the course.
