Long-serving Film Training Manitoba (FTM) staff members Allison Bile and Mauro Ferritto have been promoted into senior management roles and FTM’s Erin Hembrador will now be the Programs Facilitator.
Allison Bile will be serving as Operations Manager and Mauro Ferritto will now be FTM’s Senior Manager of Programs and Communications.
For the first-time in FTM’s twenty-years, all of the client-services staff are graduates of film and/or theatre post-secondary programs and have work histories in media productions. Allison Bile is a graduate of the University of Winnipeg and served as a board member and Secretary on the Winnipeg Film Group. Mauro Ferritto also graduated at the University of Winnipeg where he secured an internship working at New Line Cinema in Los Angeles. Erin Hembrador is a graduate of the Vancouver Film School. Her short film PIECE OF MIND played on the CBC and she also received a nomination for Best Manitoban Director at the Gimli Film Festival in 2018.
In recent weeks, FTM has been profiled by Playback Magazine, McMaster University, The Winnipeg Free Press, The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, CPHR Manitoba, and Winnipeg’s Westland Foundation. FTM has also launched new partnerships with post-secondary schools, media production unions, and production services companies.
“Having such an experienced grouping of staff members that know our media production industry has given FTM a greater level of strength. Allison, Mauro, and Erin are uniquely accomplished young professionals who have only served to improve our services and training outputs for Manitoba’s media production industry.” Said FTM’s Managing Director Adam Smoluk.
Film Training Manitoba is a member of the Province of Manitoba’s Sector Council program and conducts skills development for workers in Manitoba’s growing Media production sector.
