WINNIPEG – Film Training Manitoba (FTM) is very proud to announce the release of our first annual report, which highlights the accomplishments of FTM in the 2011/12 fiscal year. As you will see in the report, it was an incredibly successful year for our organization.
Here at FTM we believe in identifying the training needs within the community in order for Manitoba to be capable of providing crew and services that meet world industry standards. In 2011/12, FTM supported the professional development of over 500 people and delivered 35 in-class workshops via the Crew Training Program. We also placed 57 trainees through our Work Experience Program, and connected with nearly 1,100 people through our Outreach Program.
“Our goal is to support Manitoba’s film, television and digital media industry by developing people,” says Neila Benson, FTM’s Executive Director. “Every year we explore new opportunities to connect with the community to make this goal a reality. People rely on the support of FTM as they find their place in the community, and once they are established, FTM remains an important career advocate throughout their working life.”
In collaboration with the local film and television industry, Film Training Manitoba is dedicated to delivering superior training and professional development programs designed to sustain Manitoba’s film industry, a part of Manitoba’s vibrant cultural community.
Printed copies of the Annual Report will be mailed to select stakeholders over the coming weeks. In recognition of our commitment to the environment, the report is available online and we invite you to view it on our website.
